Someone asked "What is there about MW for a young person to look up to?" and GOSH...I can count 8 or 10 MILLION things! Are ya dense or what??? America runs on MONEY, the girl makes a TON of it now, and WILL for the forseeable futue. If I were a kid with a choice between football and golf....well, see ya on the course!!! ;)

It's beyond me how anyone could defend Bubbles at this point; it just bespeaks of a complete lack of integrity. After all, she withdraws from the Ginn, citing an aggravated wrist, and then is found practicing at the site of the LPGA the next day! To top it all off, after Sorenstam criticizes the outrageous behavior, the spoiled brat defiantly states that she has nothing for which to apologize.

You should also note that for something to rise to the level where it would inspire Sorenstam -- a very reserved individual, in typical Scandinavian style -- to level that kind of criticism, it has to be quite egregious indeed.

It has become obvious that Bubbles has had an EXTREMELY poor upbringing and is nothing but an arrogant, rotten spoiled brat with a feeling of entitlement. And those who defend her render themselves guilty by association.

Kathy,

Bubbles is golf's most exciting player? Since when?

I saw her play at the Pulinx two years ago, and neither I or the others watching were excited.

When Jon said that Bubbles was definitely Hall of Fame material, I thought that would be the most ridiculous praise of Bubbles to ever be mouthed.

But your fawning adulation is right up there with Jon's.

Good point Kathy... Using your logic of "no-such-thing-as-negative-plublicity", lets hope Paris Hilton and Lindsey Lohan start killing people 'cause there's no such thing as a bad role model right?

Like her or hate her you are all writing about her, talking about her, blogging about her, reading about her and watching her on The Golf Channel

Know any other 17 year old who commands such attention?

She's finished only on the day when nobody writes about her. Until then she is still golf's most exciting player and without her you would all have less to talk about.

Any other player doing what she did, rightly or wrongly, would have gone unnoticed and wouldn't have gotten all this grief.

Go Michelle !!

The key is that Wie is bringing in the casual sports fans who would not be watching/caring about the LPGA. I for one have never watched/cared about the LPGA before Wie, and I would lose any interest in women's golf as soon as Wie is not playing. She in short is broadening the LPGA fan base. Other LPGA players may complain about the circus like atmosphere, only because all the attention is focused on Wie and not the LPGA and/or its other players. Sure, it is too much, but it is likely a growing pain for the LPGA, and the LPGA needs Wie playing well. Last year's LPGA championship tournament was incredibly exciting (even better than the PGA event of the week) and I doubt it will be as exciting without Wie in contention.
