Join host Dave Berner as he welcomes TravelGolf.com National Editor Tim McDonald as they provide the ultimate Myrtle Beach podcast primer.

Courses like Burning Ridge, Ocean Isle, Racoon Run and Deer Track have closed in Myrtle Beach recently for housing developments. McDonald says there’s been a market shift in the Grand Strand.

“The average rounds are down but the average price is up, which means it’s a natural marketplace evolving,” says McDonald. “A lot of the courses shut down were not that good to begin with and weren’t tied to any real estate, it’s an example of the marketplace settling.”

Berner and McDonald also talk about things to do off the golf course, as well as the best way to save money on your trip.

Deer Track is as open as the Arizona border. I was just there, and saw golfers all over both courses.
