Golf is more than just a pastime. Podcast host Dave Berner talks to Golf Channel reporter Matt Adams, author of the new book Fairways of Life, about what we all can learn from a sport with as rich a history as golf.

The book is about learning from what happened to the great characters of golf in their life or what happened to them on the golf course, and how we can carry these lessons to other parts of our life, whether its on the golf course or off,” Adams says

It’s no China, but South America is becoming a huge golf market, says architect Ron Garl, head of Ron Garl Golf Design.

“There’s a great opportunity in the whole Caribbean basin. Golf is exploding down there,” Garl says. “Between the baby boomers moving that way and all the locals taking the game up, it’s a pretty exciting time.”

Golf writer and media consultant CB Maxwell is the first winner of WorldGolf.com’s “Your Name Here” Blog Contest.

“I read WorldGolf.com quite a bit, and then all of the sudden I saw the Dot Wong gal saying there was this contest,” says Maxwell, who will blog about new trends in the golf world. “Anyway, they liked my stuff, and I got a lot of comments from readers, which was nice. And the next thing I know, I [got] the ‘you’re a winner’” message.
