Charleston, S.C., is one of the most beautiful cities in America, and it’s got some great golf. In this week’s podcast, host Dave Berner talks to National Golf Editor Tim McDonald about the wide range of golf courses in Charleston.

“There’s a variety of courses, especially when you throw Kiawah [Island] and the Wild Dunes courses out there,” McDonald says. “You could easily spend three or four days here, even a week for that matter, and have your fill of a variety of courses.”

Positive thinking is one of the keys to success in many areas of life, but on the golf course positivity isn’t enough. Dr. Jerry Teplitz, an expert in holistic medicine, thinks he can take you beyond positive thinking for a better golf game with his Par and Beyond golf instruction program.

“What I’ve got to offer is to go way beyond the notion of ‘think positive,’” Dr. Teplitz says. “I show [golfers] how their energy system operates … and then I show them how they can maintain the energy and increase it.”

Plus, in this week’s ‘TravelGolf.com On Course’ commentary, Barry and Stacy Solomon of the Golf For Beginners podcast say golfers need to pay more attention to what they’re wearing on the golf course. “I look around sometimes at the way people are dressed. I try and dress in a nice, neat golf-type fashion,” Barry Solomon says. “But when you look around the course, I can’t believe what I see. I think the ‘pub-links’ should consider a dress code, and enforce it.”
