In this week’s podcast, host Dave Berner talks to golf writer Mike Bailey about his recent tour of some of Las Vegas’ best golf courses.

“It was a course a day, and we got a good feel for what Las Vegas golf is about right now,” Bailey says. “I started with probably the best golf course there, which is Cascata, that Rees Jones design with $500 green fees.”

Cascata isn’t the only Las Vegas golf course with high-end greens fees, but a good golf/travel packager can help you save a few bucks. John DeMarco, managing director of LasVegasGolf.com, talks about what his Web site has to offer.

We have “the most expansive list of golf courses in southern Nevada,” DeMarco says. “We list everything from the very least expensive to the most expensive golf courses. Really, it’s a great research tool.”

Senior Staff Writer Chris Baldwin talks about Buick Invitational host course Torrey Pines.

“It’s really going to be in the spotlight this year,” Baldwin says. “Not only do you have the tournament coming up. It’s the first tournament of the year for Tiger and Phil, which puts Torrey Pines in the spotlight even more.”

PGA instructor Chuck Evans reports from the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando.

This podcast is supported by Arizona Golf Packages and Florida Golf and Travel.
