In this week’s podcast, host Dave Berner talks to Senior Writer Chris Baldwin about the exceptional golf in British Columbia, Canada.

“I did a lot of the Vancouver Island Golf Trail, 11 courses up and down the island,” Baldwin says. “It’s a region that doesn’t get a lot of coverage, but it’s something worth digging a little extra to find out about.”

Where do you find good, inexpensive trail golf? TravelGolf.com’s Kiel Christianson says the Southern Illinois Golf Trail is a good bet.

Plan the golf vacation of a lifetime to Scotland with ScotlandGolf.com, says Mark Nessmith, Editor & COO of the WorldGolf.com Network.

“We’ve got now around 510 golf courses in the database, and each course-guide page has detailed information on the course,” Nessmith says. “It’s really a site now that’s dedicated to helping golf travelers get over there and experience Scotland.”

Annika Sorenstam recently announced her retirement from professional golf. National Golf Editor Tim McDonald considers her motivation for hanging it up.

“It just kind of made you think. I know she was hurt last year and had a lot of injuries, but she had apparently came back from those injuries and was playing pretty well,” McDonald says. “And the timing of her announcement just happens to coincide with the rise of Lorena Ochoa.”
