In this week’s podcast, host Dave Berner talks to Travis McDowell, director of golf at The Ridge at Castle Pines North in Denver, about the golf course.

“We definitely call it mountain golf,” McDowell says. “We have nine holes that are true mountain golf, and the neat part about this facility is that we have nine holes that are kind of in between.”

Did you know Alabama has a shoreline? It does, and it’s great golf terrain, says TravelGolf.com Senior Writer Chris Baldwin.

“Alabama’s beaches get forgotten, and people don’t realize that there are 32 miles of some of the nicest beaches I’ve seen, honestly,” Baldwin says. “There’s one course there called Kiva Dunes. It’s right on the Gulf of Mexico … it’s just a different sort of feel.”

Plus, author Ted Vickey talks about his new golf book, “101 Fitness Tips for Golf.”

“What has changed is that golf has become a lifestyle,” Vickey says. “And through that lifestyle people have realized that they can play better golf through better fitness by following very simple exercise tips and programs that not only help them in golf but in life.”
