In this week’s podcast, host Dave Berner talks to Brett Bortons, executive director of the Lowcountry Golf Course Owners Association, about superb golf in Hilton Head, S.C.
“There’s a lot of great golf. Harbour Town is the golf course that gets most of the attention because of the exposure” from the PGA Tour’s Verizon Heritage annual event, Bortons says. “But we have a lot of terrific private courses that have been rated in the top 100 on many publications’ lists.”
Patrick Meagher of Golf Vancouver Island talks about the golf on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
“There are 50 different courses up and down Vancouver Island,” he says. “We’ve got everything from some well known Canadian designers all the way up to the bigger names like Jack Nicklaus.”
Plus, Women On Course gets women involved in golf.
“We’re basically a national organization designed to introduce and connect women to each other who have an interest in the lifestyle of golf,” says Donna Hoffman, the group’s president.
This podcast is supported by San Diego Golf Central and Florida Golf and Travel.
