Take golf out of politics and take politicians out of golf

After more than a week of hearing golf relentlessly disparaged, I feel it’s time someone spoke up.

As has been reported everywhere by everyone, President Bush was playing golf while Hurricane Katrina was busy making New Orleans into a giant jacuzzi of death. Now, the hardcore golfers amongst us look at this and privately think, “Hey, he had a tee time,” but please remember these people are in the minority.

While I feel that it’s vital to point out that golf isn’t the issue here, I also believe it’s time for a nation-wide ban on presidential golfing. I mean, it’s not really helping anyone, right? Does anyone take up golf because they saw a president duck-hook the ball into a gallery? I’m even willing to go further on this and demand all politicians immediately dumpster their clubs.

It’s time to take golf out of this national debate. The U.S. currently has a president that’s down a World Trade Center and New Orleans in just about five years, and golf played no part in either situation. It really all just comes down to this:

Don’t hate the game, hate the player.

I could not agree more. Let's have that have that ban at least until they have gone through Leadbetter or Reinmuths academy. I don't think we have ever had a president that had a good looking presidential swing. So, at best they give the appearance of not being able to walk and chew gum at the same time. The average J. Q. Public can't separate the fact that golf has nothing to do with natural disasters and terrorist attacks. By the way, where is Osama anyway?

Geez, give the guy a break. Like the president has control of these things.

Osama is in a hole somewhere hiding, like all the others. On the run. Let's keep them that way, focused on the hiding. My .02.

I would rather have my president playing golf than having "sexual relations with that woman" while extremists are planning to bomb us.
You realy have a twisted thought process, see a shrink.
