Golfer Supremacy Rankings: Help make us the official golf rankings of vloggercon

Monday May 15, 2006 | 11:32:42 am 558 words, 1911 views

The people behind the Golfer Supremacy Rankings fully agree that sexism is rampant on the Internet and needs to be eliminated.

We hereby would like to wish a pox upon Heather McMichael and all the other hysterical spazzes who are blind to the feelings of others.

Also: A belated welcome to Asian hottie Dot Wong to the WorldGolf.com blog team.

Golfer Supremacy Rankings

1. Byron Nelson

Comments:
The U.S. House of Representatives has voted to award Byron Nelson a Congressional Gold Medal. The award is to honor the philanthropy efforts of the namesake of the EDS Byron Nelson Championship.

A nice move by the government to honor the classy Nelson, who has excelled in all aspects of his career.

“Through his outstanding accomplishments as a golfer and a humanitarian, Byron Nelson has proved to be an exemplary citizen,” said Rep. Michael Burgess of Texas, Nelson’s home state.

Reportedly, the bill awarding Nelson the Congressional Medal of Honor also includes a small, hard-to-spot addendum which will allocate $275 million in tax money to build a Saddam-like solid gold statue of Senator Robert Byrd in Moundsville, W.V.

2. Brett Wetterich

Comments:
Fantastic news for the rest of us hotheads. Wetterich tosses his putter, throws water bottles, mutters to himself, and now he wins the Nelson. Good work by Wetterich, who, aside from a first-round 78 at the Wachovia, has spent the last month on fire.

3. Trevor Immelman

Comments:
After his second consecutive heart-breaking runner-up finish, Immelman had this to say:

“I’m playing the best golf of my life,” Immelman said. “I’m 26 years old, and I’m going to have hundreds of golf tournaments to play still. It’s just a case of trying to build on these last few achievements.”

Let’s go to the Wayback Machine, shall we? Peabody, set the coordinates for Dan Marino, circa 1985:

“Sure it was a tough loss, but we’ll just keep working. I mean, for God’s sake, I’m Dan Marino. I have plenty more Super Bowls to play yet.”

4. Ryan Simpson

Comments:
The 13-year-old will be attempting to qualify for the U.S. Open this year.

“I feel confident that if I play my best and the course is in good enough conditions I can do well", said Simpson.

In other news, Chris Baldwin’s blog: “Ryan Simpson: What the hell has he ever won?” is due out in 3 … 2 … 1 ….

5. Shanks

Comments:
Golf blogging legend Shanks wonders if Annika Sorenstam is slipping a bit, and then she misses the cut for the first time in four years.

Shanks warns us all to watch out for Karrie Webb this year and the Aussie has two wins and sits on top of the LPGA money list.

Shanks says Loren Roberts will dominate the Champions Tour in 2006, and look who is No. 1 on the Champions Tour money list – Loren Roberts.

Now take a look at the predictions some other golf bloggers around here have made.

It’s time to accept that Shanks is the only one of us who has a clue.

Random Factoid I: Legendary golf blogger Shanks’ given name is Slicey Duckhookson.

Random Factoid II: There were only two real females mentioned in this blog. Luckily, this obviously sexist act was missed by vloggers everywhere as they excitedly prepare for Vloggercon, where the dripping-of-charisma Sandeep will be discussing “Journalism in Vlogging.”

Sandeep: Yet more proof that
vlogging is a can’t-miss medium.

More importantly William,

Michelle Wie is the first woman to get through local qualifying and to the Sectional qualifying stage of the US Open.

Oh yeah, Wie won her qualifying event.
She came first.

I wonder when Chris Baldwin's congratulatory story will come.

Why fiddle around looking for some busty gal to do your golf show? Clearly Sandeep there has the goods. I haven't been that riveted since I heard the "on hold" music when I called my local country property assessment office.
