Mentel Memorial Golf Course
About
Mentel Memorial Golf Course is one of seven municipal courses in the Columbus area. It underwent a major renovation in 2001 that gave it a new name, updated layout, and a new clubhouse. Although it is sometimes overshadowed by two of the city's more popular municipal courses, Champions and Raymond Memorial, it stands out for its meticulous maintenance. The fairways are well manicured and the rough is well defined. The gently undulating, easy-to-read greens also putt fast and true. There are three lakes that come into play on six holes and more than 40 strategically placed bunkers. Trees are present throughout the golf course, but they sometimes work in your favor by helping to block the constant winds. The sixth is one of the most notable holes at Mentel Memorial, demanding a lengthy drive over a hill.

Booked GolfNow “HotDeal” only to find booking directly would have been cheaper!! Golf Course is Challenging enough for all levels of players. Great Round!!
Nice course for 40 bucks.
This course is an above-average muni, offering some length and some tight driving holes. The greens were very nice and putted true, and the fairways were fine. Had the day not been so windy, the course would have provided fewer challenges. The clubhouse was nice from the outside but had very little to offer on the inside. There is no easy loading area and carts are not allowed into the parking lot. The food selection was minimal, and my hot dog was cold. I had come to find out that the pilot light on the grill had gone out and the grill was not operating. Apparently the person working the counter was unaware of this problem. The one amenity bright spot was the person operating the refreshment cart as she was efficient and available every five or so holes. Much appreciated on a hot day.
We may go back, but this is not a course on my "must play again" list.
Beautiful day
was paired up with two other golfers and we had a great day. have always played with some great people at this course!
Great day
Had beautiful weather. The fairways and tee boxes all had grass and were playing a little fast. Greens rolled great as well. Very happy. My round took 3 hours 27 minutes.
They had a kids clinic going on. Awesome! …But most of the driving range and putting greens were closed because of it, so I didn’t get a chance to warm up at all. At least it was a good reason.
Single play is not so bad
I played the front nine with two want to he’s and a friend. Pace was in incredibly slow. The want to be’s dropped out at 9. We then had two exceptional boys join us. It was a pleasure to be in a group of folks who know the game and play to a caliber I am not used to experiencing. The course is in exceptional shape. For a work day it seems as though central Ohio does not have anyone working because most if not all the courses are very busy. Which is still no excuse for a round of golf exceeding five hours. Rangers need to step up and do their job. Mentel’s greens are very nice and traps are playable. With a good rate on Golfnow, I will be back.
Rushed by the Ranger
Friend and I were paired with another two, and were only playing 9, but during our 3rd hole a “group of regulars” were chasing us and basically wouldn’t let us breathe with them teeing off as we approached the green. The park ranger saw this, and instead of telling them to back off, they tell us to speed up. “They are a group of regulars and would not like them to be disappointed with tailing someone.” I understand they didn’t want to wait for us, but using the reason that they favor regulars over new potential returners just didn’t sit well with us. I don’t want to bash the course, it was beautiful! But the staff ruined the experience. Played here twice, but I’m sad to say I’m most likely not going to return.
Hidden Gem
Course is the Best I’ve seen it! Greens are in great shape (fast).
Greens awesome
Greens have never been that good and I have been to the many many times
