Mel Sole as a Top Teacher

February 1, 2001, Pawleys Island, S.C. Mel Sole of the Phil
Ritson-Mel Sole Golf School has been ranked among the top 400 teachers
in the country according to Golf Magazine, which published its inaugural
rankings of the nation¹s top teachers in the February issue.
The Phil Ritson-Mel
Sole Golf School, headquartered at Pawleys Plantation in Pawleys Island,
S. C., has six United States locations: South Carolina, North Carolina,
Georgia, Kansas, Pennsylvania and Kentucky.
The editors of Golf Magazine selected Mel Sole from more than 25,000
recommendations by the PGA and LPGA sections, industry leaders and readers
of Golf Magazine.
Those selected were sent a questionnaire prepared by Dr. Paul Schempp
of the University of Georgia, director of the only university lab in the
country that studies how sports are taught.
This is the second national honor the Phil Ritson-Mel Sole Golf School
has received from Golf Magazine in the last nine months. In May 1999
Golf Magazine also named The Phil Ritson-Mel Sole Golf School one
of America¹s Top 25 Golf Schools.
Sole has been teaching with the Phil Ritson-Mel Sole Golf School for
13 years. Before partnering with his long time friend and mentor Phil
Ritson,
Sole played for 10 years on the Pro Tour in South Africa, his native
home and then moved to Toronto, Canada, where he opened the Canadian Golf
Academy an indoor/outdoor teaching facility.
The Phil Ritson-Mel Sole Golf School specializes in working with corporate
clients and has developed programs for Pepsi Co., Citi Bank, The
Raymond Corporation and others. The Phil Ritson-Mel Sole Golf School
offers complete instruction based on specific needs of female golfers.
Individual lessons as well as three and five-day schools are offered.
Complimentary green fees are included after school each day. Locals
are offered reduced rates for one-hour lessons.
