St. Lucia TournamentGolfers Invited to St. Lucia Tournament Set for June

ST. LUCIA (MAY 9, 2001) - St. Lucia Golf and Country Club will host the Second Annual Air Jamaica Celebrity Golf Tournament June 28-July 1. Registration is being accepted from individuals or groups

Celebrities participating include television and film actors, entertainers and sports figures.

The list includes Lee Elder, Jerome Henderson, Ken Kerman, Lisa Dalton, Stack Pierce, Chuck Jackson, Richard Roundtree, Clifton Davis, Ron Masak, Tony Lo Bianco, Chuck Knox, John Daly, Mickey Davis, Ned Beatty, Kevin Dobson, Scooter McGruder, Spud Webb, Dennis Haskins, Bill McCreary, James Sikking, Greg Walker, Danny Maltzman and many others to be announced.

The pairing party is June 28 with golf the following two days. Tennis and non-golfer activities also are available.

Golf registration is $495 and non-golfer participation $295. In addition to the two-day scrambles tournament with cart, range balls and gift bag, the golf registration includes two continental breakfasts, two lunches, pairing party, two dinners, guest for dinners, winners' trophies and drawing prizes.

Golf equipment and gift items to be auctioned include a signed original art print donated by Elke Sommer. Tournament entry fee is submitted to a qualified non-profit organization and may be tax deductible.

Special Air Jamaica fares and discount accommodations at the Hyatt Regency St. Lucia include options for extended stays for those who wish to enjoy Caribbean water sports, sightseeing and shopping throughout the week of July 4.

Proceeds from the charity tournament are for the development of St. Lucia's branch of the US/Caribbean Youth Empowerment Program. A kids’ clinic facilitated by the Multicultural Golf Association of America follows the tournament
on July 1 and features an ongoing international program designed to promote self-esteem and discipline for disadvantaged children through the sport of golf.

St. Lucia Tournament Corporate sponsorship and exhibit opportunities are available as well as promotion through the charity auction.
