Moose ridgeMoose Ridge
Golf Course to Open
in Lower Michigan this Spring

TravelGolf.com Staff Report

SOUTH LYON, Mich. (FEB. 22, 2001) - Moose Ridge Golf Course, designed by Raymond Hearn of Plymouth to accentuate the natural beauty of the land, will open to the public in spring of 2001.

Hidden on 230 acres of naturally wooded, undulated land and designed to PGA specs, Moose Ridge offers golfers more than 90 feet in elevation changes and an Up North ambiance on a championship-caliber course.

Moose Ridge currently heads the list of courses designed by Hearn, including the Majestic of Hartland Michigan, the Traditions of Oklahoma of Oklahoma City, Mistwood Golf Course of Romeoville, Ill., Sea Oaks Country Club of New Jersey, and Fantasy Beach Resort Golf Club of Cairo, Egypt.

Moose Ridge creates a private natural getaway for each golfer. With fairways surrounded by mature forests, roaming wildlife and large areas of wetlands filled with lush heather and wildflowers, golfers will forget that they are in lower Michigan.

Tee times are set at 10-12 minute intervals, instead of the average 7, to allow players a private game of golf with their party.

Players challenging Moose Ridge play on the best terrain that a course has to offer. Bent grass is used on the tees, greens, and fairways.

The sand bunkers - all 25 of them - are filled with brilliant white USGA Best Sand. Each hole offers five tees for the individual's choice of difficulty.

Upon its opening in 2001, Moose Ridge will be the first of its kind, offering a private club atmosphere to the public.

The Moose Ridge staff will greet each player with curbside bag service. Starters and player's assistants will be available to aid guests for a more enjoyable game. An on-staff PGA professional will be available to assist guests with information on both Moose Ridge and the game of golf itself.

Accompanying the course will be a world-class practice facility. Players will practice from grass tees and play to target greens. Each guest can work on their short game with the use of a practice bunker and putting green.

A full service pro shop will ensure the needs of every golfer is met, (except a 1 handicap), and private golf lessons are available for every caliber of player.
