From Staff Reports

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Sept. 5, 2003) -- Attention ladies! If you love golf or would like a friendly flirtation with the game, Ladies Fore Golf is bringing women to the sport by offering golf in a resort setting. To kick off the 2004 season, the first event is scheduled for Amelia Island Plantation in Florida, Feb. 20 -22, 2004.

The three-day package at one of Florida's premier resorts will combine golf instruction and course play with activities designed to restore the body, enrich the mind and connect you with other women. Spa treatments, fashion shows and image consults are just part of the pampering participants will enjoy. For which we have also booked Debbie Steinbach, former LPGA tour player to lead our clinics.

Cost for the package is $345 and includes golf clinics tailored to skill level, a welcome cocktail party, breakfast each morning with featured speakers on topics ranging from personal image to personal finance, a dinner and fashion show, the Ladies Fore Golf Nine-Hole Scramble and a farewell awards luncheon. Ample time will be available for shopping and other resort activities. Rooms are available starting at just $122 per night.

Ladies Fore Golf is a Virginia-based recreation company aimed at promoting women's interest in golf in the context of a resort setting. "Aside from the pleasure of the game itself, golf helps women develop new friendships and business connections. The sport strengthens a woman's ability to participate with men in corporate and social settings, and it is a skill that can be enjoyed into retirement," said company founder Donna Craig, a former golf widow-turned-golf enthusiast.
