Proderma sun- and skin-care products score off the charts in golfer surveys
From Staff Reports
SPRING LAKE, N.J. (Dec. 10, 2002) - Proderma Maximum Sport Formule - the sun- and skin-care product line specifically formulated for golfers - is preferred by more than 80 percent of golfers over their current brands, according to results of a test conducted the past three months by Rankmark, the golf-product testing and consumer-feedback company.
Testers ranked Proderma sunscreens substantially higher than other brands in the categories of SPF protection, absorption, greaselessness, fragrance, and sweat resistance. In overall performance, Proderma sunscreens earned double the score of testers' current brands, including Coppertone, Banana Boat, Lubiderm, Neutrogena, Clinique and Bio-Sun. In the key category of golf-club slippage, Proderma outperformed other sunscreens by more than 500 percent.

Proderma's lip balm was compared to testers' current brands for protection, smoothness, ease of application, fragrance and taste, and healing. Proderma won each category decidedly.
Testers' overwhelming preference of Proderma products represents one of the widest-margin victories of any golf product surveyed in Rankmark history, says Charles Mandel, Chief Executive Officer of Rankmark.
"I expect Proderma to dominate the market as word gets out," says Mandel. "Plain and simple, golfers say that Proderma works best for them."
"Rankmark's test confirms that golfers are extremely pleased with the high performance of Proderma products, which are specifically formulated for their needs," says Mike Argyelan (pronounced Are-ja-lin), Founder and President 19th Hole Products, LLC, maker of Proderma.
About Proderma
Since Proderma's formal entry in the golf market in April 2002, more golfers of all genders and ages - including dozens of PGA Tour players - are applying Proderma products to their exposed and non-exposed skin. Private country clubs, daily-fee golf courses and resorts are purchasing and promoting Proderma to contribute to better health awareness. This is based on Proderma's effectiveness protecting their members and clientele from the deleterious effects of the sun's damaging UVA and UVB rays. The many marquee pro shops carrying Proderma include Baltusrol Country Club (host of several U.S. Open Championships) in New Jersey, the exclusive Bel Aire Country Club in Los Angeles, and Waialae Country Club (host of the PGA Tour's Sony Open) in Hawaii.
Proderma's nine golf-specific products include Sunscreen (SPF 30), Windscreen, Lip Balm, Hand Lotion, Facial Moisturizer (SPF 18), Body Lotion (SPF 18), Face Stick (SPF 30), Burn Gel, and Moonscreen (moisturizes at night to ready skin for the morning tee time). All Proderma products give golfers extreme protection from exposure to sun and wind, and the everyday effects of aging. All ingredients used in Proderma were carefully chosen to blend the best of cosmetic, herbal and scientific properties. Nutritive and restorative herbal extracts promote skin conditioning and natural moisturizing. Antioxidant vitamins A, C and E help to protect skin against the cumulative effects of sun exposure. Allantonin, tree oil, and ginseng help speed and promote the skin's natural healing process.
