Classic Dye, Fun Course, Poor Facility
When you play a Dye course you expect some trickery; lots of mounding in the fairway, blind shots, odd bounces. To that, sometimes his courses can be great some times just annoying. While the track is fun (and it is fun), I found it to be a little too tricked out even for a dye course. I also found it a bit unimaginative as compared to other Dye Courses (french Lick, ocean, whistling etc)
Now the golf was fun, the staff was friendly; but the facility itself bad. They have a great short game area but force you to hit off 20 yr old mats, the range is good but the grass is in serious need of re-sodding, the locker room is small, and has no benches. The showers were disgusting w mold on the curtains. There is also barely any light in the shower room and is kind of dangerous not gonna lie. Overall clear signs of leaks and poor maintenance and just a general lack of pride in maintaining the building which is very disappointing. You pay 110 bucks to play golf at an awarding winning golf course that has hosted professional events, you don’t expect the facilities to be as run down as they were. All in all though, would recommend the course but would love if ownership would but some money in to the club house. I had no desire to spend money there after my round
PS: the greens are TOO firm, very difficult for double digit HCPers to hold the greens
Love it!
I’ve played there several times, and it never disappoints. Certainly a challenge. Can’t wait to go back.
Expensive with no advance warning
Went threw Golf Now booked in advanced. When we arrived only 9 holes were open we had to play the back 9 twice. I asked for a discounted rate and was almost laughed at for asking.
Bulle Rock amazing!
Course is fantastic. Staff was incredibly attentive. They had a Ranger that told us to pick up the pace and then told us later that we were keeping the pace that they set after the first 6 holes. It’s a difficult course, make sure you play from the correct tee box.
Exquisite and Lush
Great course, although I would not recommend for beginners. Sublime tee boxes, fairways and greens; VERY challenging rough and bunkers. Free practice facilities were superb.
Food, servers, and cart girl were delicious.
Only real gripe was that the carts didn’t have rain covers on them (we did experience a bit of rain).
Great course
I play here pretty often. Usually little to complain about. Today it was cart path only due to a minimal snout of lite rain. No reason for that. Due to that. The round was excruciatingly long. The threesome in front of me obviously had no clue about ready golf. One of the players would walk all the way across the fairway with his fancy rangefinder, then walk all the way back to his cart, parked on the cart path, grab a club, walk all the way back, then proceed to skull, chunk, thin it or top it just about every single time. His playing partners I’m guessing though only one player was allowed at their ball at a time. Had to wait on every single shot. They blamed the group in front of them, who I saw 2 holes ahead of them most of the day. Regardless that this was November 25th, a course ranger is exactly the cure for this type of group. With this course presenting themselves as a top tier course, with their rate’s supporting that projection, I expect better. Playing through wasn’t an option as these guys obviously hadn’t a clue. But with that, the course was in excellent condition for a November day and minus the lack of a ranger, the staff were top notch as usual. Thinking of making the trip, go for it. You won’t be disappointed (normally)
Great Course
Playing a Pete Day course is fun, challenging, and a must do. This course was truly inspiring, and I'm so glad my son and I made the special trip and fought through Thanksgiving traffic to spend a beautiful day on the course. Thanks for a memorable day.
