Golf Club At Wescott Plantation - Oak Forest Course
About
Situated in the heart of Lowcountry, the Golf Club at Wescott Plantation is part of one of the area's oldest plantations. There are 27 holes of golf available at the club, which are divided into three nine-hole courses: Oak Forest, Burn Kill, and Black Robin. Although each golf course has a different character and scenery, they are all dappled with centuries-old live oaks and wetlands. The Oak Forest Course takes its name from the original plantation and has wider fairways than the other two courses. Lush vegetation frames each hole and the classic bunkering embodies the traditional feel of the course. The eighth hole is the signature hole of the entire golf course, distinct for both its scenery and difficulty. Par will be tough on this par 3 with a lake bordering the entire left side.

Nice course
Course in good condition. Greens were recently aerated and still played well. The starter was not welcoming - needs hospitality lessons
Good value for CHS area golfing
Thoroughly enjoyed the round- friendly staff, routing great! Tee box good condition, greens were true. Just some crab grass creeping into fairways. Pace of play was fair, got done in 4:30.
Review
Still need a ranger to oversee slow play. I think there might have been one but first in a bit. Pace was better bc of weather.
Hot day cool course!
first time playing this course. A hot weekday afternoon I was the only one on the course played in less than three hours enjoyed it it was fun. greens were nice balls seem to be rolling true.
First time playing here!
overall course conditions were good. Greens were in great shape. Had rain the day before course was cartpath only. So not many players showed up I played in three hours 18 holes good day for me. I would definitely play this course again!
Nice course
A very friendly course with wide fairways. Very good conditions. Only drawback was the pace of play approached 5 hours. The locals we played with said this was normal. Definitely need a ranger pushing along play.
Great Course Golf Now sucks
This course wasn’t bad however the pace of play was very slow due to people in front trying to play a scramble that had no business playing one. My negative review is for Golf Now as the weather conditions were rainy and we needed to get a rain check and Golf now doesn’t let you get one with their new rules which is atrocious customer service on their end. No one should ever book with Golf now they rip you off.
Good Value
For a city owned course, the facility is very good. Of course the course conditions were ok and could have been better but not to be expected for a Municipal facility in this area.
Ok Forest/burn kill
Second time playing Oak Forest and Burn Kill. Haven't gotten a chance to play Black Robin yet, but the courses have been enjoyable and not overly challenging. Pace of play leaves more to be desired and they just aerated the greens so they weren't rolling true.
Poor customer service pro shop cashier
I've played here numerous times living nearby. Booked online and paid online as I almost always do. At check in, cashier tells me I owe full tee time cost. I told him I already paid as I have done it this way many, many times. He proceeds to tell me I must be mistaken, and I must have only reserved time online. After multiple times explaining I already paid showing my receipt, the club pro/manager comes over and instantly corrects him showing the cashier on his own terminal it was paid in advance. Not even an apology. How about better customer service and consideration that the customer just may be right.
Even after the unpleasant start, the course was in the best shape I've played it in years. I played with a member, and he says it was in such good shape because of recent rains. If that's what it takes to be in such good shape, I recommend watering more, and I would make it a point to play there more.
I probably would have given 5 stars based upon course condition had it not been for rude cashier, but hopefully, it will be better next time.
Excellent Public Links
Fun course. Wide, accepting fairways. Greens in great shape. Bunkers were hard due to recent rains and should be tended at the beginning of each day to ensure reasonable play. Plays long, so tee it forward. Green tees are plenty long for a handicap in the teens.
