Baneberry Golf & Resort: Far - but not too far - from the Smoky Mountain action

Baneberry Golf & Resort's remote location in Tennessee's stunning Great Smoky Mountains makes it an excellent destination for a laidback golf/fishing getaway. It's close - but not too close - to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.

  • Egwani Farms Golf Course - River Egwani Farms Golf Course: On the Little River with views of the big Smokies

Egwani Farms Golf Course in Rockford, Tenn. is just a tad outside of oh-wow viewing range of the Great Smoky Mountains. Bubba Watson might be able to hit the Smokies off the tee here, but since they're not really in reach for mortals, you don't have those jaw-dropping, mountain vistas you might get elsewhere in east Tennessee, a wee closer to the southern Appalachian range. Still, the course has its own charms.

  • Horton State Park Golf Course Volunteer for a Challenging Round at Tennessee's Horton State Park Golf Course

If you're looking for a challenging, out-of-the-way, and inexpensive course--and really, who isn't?--you need to go the extra mile and play Henry Horton State Park Golf Course. Having just played four rounds over two days on this 7,060-yard course (6,604 from the white tees), I can unequivocally say that the course is in immaculate condition from tees to greens, and, contrary to the sentiments expressed by some golfers on another well-read web site, the staff is very courteous and accommodating.

Eagle's Landing Golf Club, which serves as both a haven from the bustle of Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge and a refuge for a number of indigenous species, offers a scenic, pleasant round for golfers of every skill level.
