La Costa Resort & Spa - North
Course Profile
This full-service luxury resort is situated on 400 rolling acres of scenic terrain and has been named the "Best Spa in the World" by The Robb Report. "GOLF Magazine" also named it to their 1996 list of "Silver Medal Resorts." This club hosts the Mercedes Championships, which kicks off the PGA Tour each year. Both courses are similar in design. The fairways are generous, but scattered with trees. The elevated greens putt true and are well bunkered. Both courses have water hazards coming into play on several holes. The terrain is flat and easy to walk, however, you must be accompanied by a caddie if you choose to walk. "GOLF Magazine" rated the South Course 99th best under the 1996 category of "Top 100 Courses You Can Play in the U.S." Joe Lee added the back nine to the South Course in 1973, and the back nine to the North Course in 1989. This large and exceptionally beautiful resort also offers spa facilities as well as a complete tennis program.
