Tom Fazio tees up thoroughly Lowcountry golf experience at Barefoot Resort in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Barefoot Resort & Golf stretches along three miles of the Intracoastal Waterway on the north end of South Carolina's Grand Strand. The resort is one of Myrtle Beach's most popular golfing destinations, offering four championship courses designed by Greg Norman, Pete Dye, Norman Love III, and Tom Fazio.

Barefoot's Fazio Course sits at the heart of the resort, between the Dye Course and the Love Course. Like many European courses, the Fazio Course doesn't return to the clubhouse after nine holes, however it is no British links layout. This course is thoroughly Lowcountry, with lush native grasses and forests of live oaks and pines.

The rolling landscape also provides some interesting elevation changes and there are also waste areas and bunkers with which to contend.

Golfers will be able to see water on 15 holes but many lakes are situated in the out-of-play areas, making the golf course more approachable.

In addition to golf, Barefoot Resort also boasts three lighted tennis courts, a fitness center, pool, game room and even a library.
