JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort in Texas
The newest addition to the golf scene in Texas is a big one: The JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort, home to the AT&T Oaks at TPC San Antonio and AT&T Canyons at TPC San Antonio golf courses.
The resort will host the Valero Texas Open in 2010 for the first time, moved over from the Westin La Cantera Resort.
This is the largest JW Marriott Resort in the world, set on 600 acres and featuring 1,002 rooms, a 28,000-square-foot spa, six-acre water park, seven dining options and four large conference rooms. It's also home to the High Velocity Sports bar, featuring a 120-foot curvy projection screen that can show multiple sporting events at once. Seventy percent of the resort is powered by clean "Windtricity," and the golf courses feature a new "closed-loop irrigation system" that will help retain water.
The resort is located north of the city center and about a 15-minute drive to the airport. The TPC San Antonio is a private club and available only to guests of the JW Marriott Resort, stay-and-play packages are available.
