Tetherow Golf Club in Oregon: A Bend course that won't give you any breaks

BEND, Ore. -- David McLay Kidd is an award-winning architect who has Bandon Dunes Golf Resort at the Castle Course in St. Andrews on his resume. But Tetherow Golf Club is not only a Kidd design, but it's also the place he calls home.

Tetherow maintains the highest standards of traditional golf as well as the highest level of environmental excellence. Opened in 2008, Tetherow was the first golf course in Oregon to achieve certification as an Audubon International Certified Signature Sanctuary.

One piece of advice: If you're playing this course for the first time, use a forecaddie. They can save you some strokes.

Born and raised in the former Soviet Union, photographer Oleg Volovik moved to the United States in 1992 and now lives with his wife and two children in Los Angeles.
