TravelGolf.com chosen
Forbes Best of the Web for 2003

TravelGolf.com Staff Report

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (Oct. 24, 2003) -- The third time is indeed a charm. TravelGolf.com has gone "back-2-back-2-back" in Forbes Magazine's "Business-2-Business" guide by taking home its third straight "Best of the Web" award in the highly competitive sports and travel category. The award caps an exciting year at TravelGolf.com, and president Robert Lewis said the best is yet to come.

"It is an honor to win this award for a third time, and we appreciate the business world taking notice of our efforts and our product," Lewis said. "We look forward to competing for the award again in 2004. Like Lance Armstrong and the New York Yankees, we're never content, no matter how many titles or awards we win."

Since taking home its second award in 2002, TravelGolf.com has re-launched the wildly popular BadGolfer.com, dove head-first into the Canadian golf market with GolfCanada.com, and redesigned all of its major regional publications. The company's newsletter subscriber base has increased to more than 300,000, and advertising sales increased by 83 percent.

TravelGolf.com also improved the quality of its editorial content with the hiring of a cadre of top-notch, golf-savvy associate editors, including Dale Leatherman, Dave Berner, John Gordon and Becky Larsen. Longtime senior editor Shane Sharp also was promoted to the managing editor post, where he will provide more guidance and input into editorial development and expansion.

Lewis said the company will aim for its fourth straight Forbes award in 2004 as it aggressively expands into the Gulf Coast and Northeastern regions of the United States. The Arizona-based company will continue to diversify its publishing goals in 2004 by increasing its presence in the equipment, instruction, and tourism sectors.

As with previous awards, Forbes cited TravelGolf.com's popular "Rave of the Day" and its multitude of insightful golf course reviews and features as the publication's top components.
