Opens Charlotte Bureau,
Shane Sharp Promoted
CHARLOTTE (SEPT. 6, 2001) - TravelGolf.com, the world's highest read chain of golf publications , announced Thursday that it will shift its editorial duties to its newly opened Charlotte Bureau, and has promoted senior writer Shane Sharp to Contributing Writer.
Sharp, who has over five years experience covering the Carolinas and Myrtle Beach golf scene for TravelGolf.com, will head up the Charlotte Bureau in addition to providing TravelGolf.com with a wide variety of national travel/golf based content.
"TravelGolf.com has a longstanding tradition as the golf and travel authority of the Grand Strand, and now we are poised to take that to the next level with a major increase in coverage and copy," says Robert Lewis, president of TravelGolf.com.
Sharp will cover the entire Carolina golf market, and will also be the primary content provider for GolfCarolina.com one of TravelGolf.com's newest and most successful publications. As part of his duties as editor, Sharp will also be reporting from major TravelGolf.com markets such as Phoenix, Arizona, Palm Springs, California, and Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Charlotte Bureau will begin editorial operations in September in order to spearhead a major increase in Myrtle Beach golf based coverage. TravelGolf.com will also utilize the Charlotte Bureau to increase its presence in the major market areas of Hilton Head and Charleston, South Carolina and Wilmington, North Carolina.
