Opens Charlotte Bureau,
Shane Sharp Promoted

CHARLOTTE (SEPT. 6, 2001) - TravelGolf.com, the world's highest read chain of golf publications , announced Thursday that it will shift its editorial duties to its newly opened Charlotte Bureau, and has promoted senior writer Shane Sharp to Contributing Writer.

Sharp, who has over five years experience covering the Carolinas and Myrtle Beach golf scene for TravelGolf.com, will head up the Charlotte Bureau in addition to providing TravelGolf.com with a wide variety of national travel/golf based content.

"TravelGolf.com has a longstanding tradition as the golf and travel authority of the Grand Strand, and now we are poised to take that to the next level with a major increase in coverage and copy," says Robert Lewis, president of TravelGolf.com.

Sharp will cover the entire Carolina golf market, and will also be the primary content provider for GolfCarolina.com one of TravelGolf.com's newest and most successful publications. As part of his duties as editor, Sharp will also be reporting from major TravelGolf.com markets such as Phoenix, Arizona, Palm Springs, California, and Las Vegas, Nevada.

"We strongly believe that with our arsenal of writers, travel industry experts, and our cutting edge business model, that TravelGolf.com has made the necessary adjustments to maintain its foothold as the world's leading authority on travel and golf," said content editor Doug Carey.

The Charlotte Bureau will begin editorial operations in September in order to spearhead a major increase in Myrtle Beach golf based coverage. TravelGolf.com will also utilize the Charlotte Bureau to increase its presence in the major market areas of Hilton Head and Charleston, South Carolina and Wilmington, North Carolina.

"This enables us to get our claws deeper into some of the most breath-taking, golf-rich country in the United States," added Shane Sharp. "Our philosophy has always been that the Carolinas, Florida, Arizona, Palm Springs and Las Vegas are the major attractor golf markets in the U.S. Now we are positioned to provide superior content and travel options for our readers above and beyond what we are already doing."

In addition to his experience with TravelGolf.com, Sharp has written for the Charlotte Observer, the Rock Hill Herald, the Morganton News Herald, and has contributed to Golf Magazine, Golfdom Magazine and Triad Golf Today.

TravelGolf.com publishes 24 publications including top read GolfCarolina.com, HiltonheadGolf.com, MyrtleBeachGolf.com, GolfFlorida.com, GolfArizona.com, GolfCalifornia.com as well as GolfOhio.com, GolfIllinois.com and MichiganGolf.com.
