The DrizzleStik
Keeps You Covered

BRIGHTON, MI – How many times has this happened to you?

You’re out playing golf, and it begins to drizzle. You don’t want your sticks to get wet, but you don’t want to rummage around in your bag for the hood, so you wait. The rain gets heavier, so you open your big golf umbrella and jam it down into your bag. As you drive your cart to the next tee, the umbrella blows out. Your grips are now soaked. You curse.

Now the rain increases another level. You retrieve your umbrella, and finally locate the musty bag hood in a side pocket. The battle begins with the poorly designed snaps, none of which seem to line up with the ones on the hood. You curse again, more loudly.

You eventually get the hood semi-attached, you’re drenched, you’ve bent back your fingernail, and the rain stops. You curse like a sailor on leave, and a vein bulges from your forehead.

“A truism of golf is that rain happens,” says Hartwell. “Inevitably, one of the golfer's first actions is to cover his or her clubs. Quite often, this effort consists of their own full size golf umbrella (which usually falls out of the bag because it is so big -- not to mention the golfers would rather use it for themselves), a rainfly they dig around in their bag for, a garbage bag, etc., etc. None of these provide the quick access and usability of the DrizzleStik.”

Ideally, as the case with a number of Sr. PGA Tour caddies, the canopy would maintain good coverage when the clubs are carried. Any minor gap when carrying the clubs would be covered (so we are told) by the caddy's own rain jacket.”

Absent a caddy, however, walkers may have to go back to the hassle of the rain hood and those damnable snaps.
