Titleist Pro V1Titleist Pro V1,
Titleist ProV1x
success is in the statistics

By David R. Holland,
Senior Writer

The first time you reach that par-5 in two and sink an eagle putt you will be sold.

The new Titleist ProV1 is a dream come true for Masters' champion Mike Weir or for any regular Joe who wants to outdrive a golf buddy.

Faster swing speeds? Mark O'Meara used the Titleist Pro V1x to triumph in the Skins Game and Phil Mickelson has been using it and anticipating that it will help him lower the trajectory on some of his shots.

The golf fans of the world watched as Weir recorded Masters' history with his third come-from-behind victory of the season. Weir used the new Titleist Pro V1 golf ball and a confident putting stroke, Weir's 4-under par 68 secured a position in a playoff, which he won on the first extra hole.

Titleist Winners' Circle

At the Bank of America Colonial, Kenny Perry used the ProV1x to fire a course record tying and personal best 61 on Saturday en route to a tournament record 19-under par and six-stroke victory.

Colonial's Top 10 and ties included five other ProV1 strokers -- Jeff Sluman, Pat Bates, Esteban Toledo, Dan Forsman and Harrison Frazar. Perry and nine other Titleist players have combined for 16 victories through the first 21 events on the 2003 PGA Tour, more than five times the nearest competitor with three.

Titleist Pro V1x

Titleist ProV1xThe introduction of the Titleist Pro V1x ball in 2003 was one of the most anticipated new products of the year.

The new ball has 60 fewer dimples than the Pro V1, and its dimples are hexagon-shaped. But the Titleist Pro V1 is also new and improved for 2003.

"As we embark upon the third full season for the Pro V1 franchise, we have advanced performance to strengthen our position as the industry's undisputed golf ball technology leader," commented George Sine, Vice President, Golf Ball Marketing and Strategic Planning. "More importantly, the new Pro V1 and new Pro V1x address and provide performance options to the most discerning players at the professional and amateur levels. Evidence of the overwhelming acceptance among the world's best players is our unmatched early-season success on the PGA Tour and across the worldwide professional tours."

2003 Titleist ProV1

The redesigned Titleist ProV1 features a new, softer and faster 1.550" core formulation, a speed enhancing and spin controlling ionomer casing, shear and abrasion-resistant Urethane Elastomer cover and a new aerodynamic icosahedral design. The combination of even faster velocity and high-coverage 392 dimple pattern with five different sizes delivers even longer tee-to-green distance, a more controlled ball flight and improved in-flight consistency, while maintaining its tour-proven Drop-and-StopT performance into the green and soft feel.

Titleist has the proof in the statistics. These are the premier golf balls in the world.
