| Donald trumps himself |

The Donald once was financially bankrupt, or close. He is bankrupt in so many other ways. His boorishness appeals to the worst in us, and no one of taste, education, or class can be anything but reviled.

Good message but it seems very personal... Are you sure Donald didn't cut you off in traffic or short you on his Christmas list? I hear a lot of anger and bad taste in your writing, who are you really pissed at... Donald is kinda goofy but to call him unintelligent... not sure how that reflects on you. Again, very personal - too bad. Never golfed one of his courses though - don't really care to either. Don't really like the guy... his success as a person is unchallangable though - major giver!! Do your homework next time.

| Trump as in "Rump" |

In my world, Golf Digest has value, but Trump is useless. He and his emdeavors are of no value in my life. Please don't dignify his meaningless ramblings with any further response.....maybe he'll crawl back under his rock.

Youse knowze, I donīt care how golf digest rates its courses...I donīt care if El Donaldo Pato pays them in ads for a spot on the rankins...in the end, his existence wonīt come close to mattering in this world as much as did Mother Teresaīs, Oscar Romeroīs, or Paul Farmerīs...so, write all the articles, blogs, diatribes you want. I support you in your endeavors to rid the world of cockroaches and ginko bilobas like Donald Trump...all the while knowing that their golf courses remain insignificant for those who suffer in Haiti, the Solomon Islands, and Matamorras.

I couldn't agree more with your comments re: Donald Trump. Who gives a rats what he thinks? I was very disappointed in the Golf Channel they involved him in one of their Big Break series. Why anyone thinks of him as a successful TV personality or even a businessman is beyond me. Donald Trump is a joke...a bonafide laughing stock. Maybe that's his attraction. He helps the rest of us feel better about ourselves. What a pathetic loser.

I'm just guessing that Trumps courses won't be featured on your website anytime soon nor will he be advertising with you either. I don't see drinks in your common future either...
Neither is a loss as the real Great courses that are to be played are still available, recognizable and without involving his Trumpness or a pre-financial statement to do so.
I'd rather play Pebble anyway...

I totally agree with your comments about Mr. Trump.. I know a number of wealthy people who do not flaunt their dollars. If you build it "well enough" they will come Donald, not just because your inherited money built it.

Good Lord, you could cut the ENVY in the air with a dull knife.. and sorry fella but the fact is the Donald lost all the money he inherited a long time ago. The millions he has now was a decent job of pulling himself up by his "OWN" bootstraps. Nobody has to like the guy, but how about trying to act like adults instead of like spoiled children..

I'm not a Trump fan but this article is ridiculous. Do you expect people to give any credibility to your comments when all you do is personally attack the man with childish and churlish insults? Give your head a shake. If you must present yourself like this, take your tiny golf balls and go home.

I agree with this writer- because although I am not a fan of the Donald- he has no taste, class etc, it is still very mean spitited and nasty of you, Tim McDonald, to write such a vicious and vitriolic article. I expect better from you. Nastiness is so emasculating- It would serve you well to never mention the Donald again. The less said about the man, the better
Thank You.

Good to see someone has the Cojones to stand up. Like or not Trump the golf purists are not after manufactured courses with 5 star hotels et al. That is way the courses of Britain and Ireland are so revered. Golf courses need to build character and you don't get that overnight.

Uh OH,we better watch this, the tide may be going out a bit on your article Tim.. I'm on this side as well. You don't have to like "The Donald", but a bad impression of "Rosie" should be well beneath you.. Vitrol is not too harsh a word for your diatribe against a man who is just that, "another man"... I choose to be with the last couple of comments, and will add a little more credence to something that was said about purchasing spots on a "best to play list". Anyone who thinks that these "lists" are legitimate forums giving us the real scoop on where or where not is the best place to play is living in La La land.. I have some personal experience with the business of golf courses versus placement on lists. I worked for a brand new golf course for ten years, (from construction right through it's first shot at a "media rating"). The first time the golly golly folks showed up for their FREE rounds of golf, with cart, followed by an expensive dinner and as many drinks as they wanted, the course could be found on the list of the top 3 new public courses in Canada in 1995. When they weren't invited back the next year,(you want to see "boors" you should have seen them), by some strange coincidence the same course, which was in even better condition the next year, got no mention whatsoever, neither has it since as the course chose not to advertise in their publication.. Now... Don't treat us like imbeciles Tim, you know as well as I do that this "IS" the way the game works. I would even suggest that this website is kinder to it's biggest corporate clients than other folks who don't kiss butt as easy.. All that said, as one person commented, Donald Trump does have his good side. He has been very much involved in many good causes to raise a lot more money than this website may make in it's lifetime. It seems that the USA loves to jump on someone any chance they get without looking to see what kind of glass house they live in themselves.. Anyway, thats my comment from one of those "Oh so accomodating" Canucks from above your northern border.. Lets see if you can come up with something that really matters to anyone next time around.
