I would love to see a Muslim thank Allah for helping him win the U.S. Open and watch all you hypocrites lose your minds.

I'm with you Irv. I'm glad at least one person on this site is smart enough to use the brain evolution gave him. For all the others, ignorance is bliss. Enjoy the fantasy.

"A fool hath said there is no god!" You should wake up and smell the roses God made. There is MORE proof of Jesus and God that there is that YOU exist."

Mr. Taylor won the tournament? What tournament were you watching Irv? Maybe if you had a clue your stomach wouldn't have turned. On the other hand with your attitude toward the One who created you, I'll bet your stomach turns a lot anyway.

I will pray for you that at some time in your life you do find God in your life. How empty your life must be without God. I truly feel sorry for you. You are entitled to your feelings, but please do not try to impose them on other people. If Zach Johnson has a strong religious belief do not condemn him for that.

God Bless Zach... what a great guy to win the Masters. Jesus Christ, can he thank his God? If it wasn't for Him, none of us would be here. Looney Libs, where is your freedom of speech? Oh yah...except when God is involved. By the way, it was Zach who won, Not Taylor.

I appreciate a writer seeing Johnson's win for what it is and appreciating his reaction. I thought Zach handled the post game with a lot of composure especially for a man of his age and experience. In a day when everything seems too polished and corporatized, its nice to see fresh faces and realism. It's what keeps us watching. My hat's off to The Master's once again for a great tournament and bringing back at least a hope for anyone who is invited to win, even it takes Divine intervention.

I seem to recall that Ben Crenshaw felt Harvey Penick's presence during his last win at Augusta. If Ben can sense his deceased mentor, surely it is OK for Zach to sense his creator.

Zach Johnson's Beliefs April 11, 2007, 9:37 am

by Jim Rhyne
We live in period of time that people are scared to say the are a Christian. The backlash from the media, the ACLU, the Liberal left. However, they can say GD and any other word while playing a sport and not a word is said. How much did you you hear any of the announcers say about Tiger's verbal rampage at almost every tourney he mishits a shot. To some of us, we are giving Jesus credit for where we are in life. Having overcome many battles and adversities. Think about what Tony Dungee said after the Colts won the Superbowl, he left no one wondering who he was giving credit to. For those who don't have that personal relationship with Christ as their Lord and Saviour, it just gives them something to mumble about. Had Johnson walked off the 18th hole and french kissed another man, you would have heard barely anyone mentioning it. But just like Aaron Baddely did after winning the Heritage last year and many atheletes in all sports, they are man or woman enough to stand up for what they believe in, not scared that they might get attacked by the liberal left, atheists, agnostics, whatever. Zach showed me he was more of man by speaking from his heart, and showing emotion, than most of the canned speaches we hear usually from winners. Give him his respect and treat him like a man who is willing to lay down his pride and say he didn't do it alone. That he had help, someone who kept him calm and turned his so called mediocre ability into something that few will ever be able to so, actually live out their dreams. I praise God there are people like Zach Johnson, Aaron Baddely, Tony Dungee, Lovey Smith of the Bears who aren't ashamed of their beliefs, but are proud to be a Christian, in a country founded by Christians, but now are afraid to be labeled a Christian, for the backlash by the media and liberal left. We need more people to stand up and not be scared by what the media might say.

Zach Johnson April 11, 2007, 9:33 am

Once again in the name of "freedom" the "freedom" fighters want to control what someone says when it comes to a person's faith. If he had cursed God like what has been heard many times on the air, very little would be made of it, but genuinely expressing himself, in the moment, like he succeeded to do all day Sunday, proved once again real champions truely are made of honest humble "folks" or as "freedom" fighters are saying, a hick from Iowa.
May we witness more humble, honest, God-fearing type in all of life. The other I deserved it, me, me, me, types give us little hope of real, true joy.

Thanks for standing up for Zach Johnson's faith in Jesus. It seems
that people have come to believe
that christians don't have a right
to express their faith. My God give
him many more victories.

It was very disappointing that as Zach Johnson was teeing off on number 18 in what was undoubtedly the most important shot of his life, CBS as interviewing Phil Mickelson who was not even a factor in the tournament. They didn't even show the tee shot until after it landed in the fairway. Very poor coverage. CBS couldn't handle the fact that Tiger or Phil didn't win. Respect Tiger, but tired of his attitude when he doesn't win.

I do respect Tiger for his ability but very tired of his teenage attitude when every shot is not perfect. If he was on my High School golf team he would sit out next match for spitting on tees, cussing and blaming every bad shot on something or somebody else. Some of the blame is the news media who insist on focusing on Tiger regardless of the situation during the tournament coverage. CBS coverage was the worst I have ever seen of the Masters and I am sure it was because Phil was out of it and Tiger was spitting ,cussing and hitting bad shots and worst of all for them ...LOSING!! God bless Zach Johnson and the "Great State of Iowa"
