Zach & God April 11, 2007, 8:52 am

by Jackie and Phil Thompson
Finally someone doesn't mind thanking Jesus or God for the talents they have.
Chris Baldwin seems to always be putting his foot in his mouth.
Maybe if more people would realize that everything in life is God Given, even the ability to play great golf, and being healthy enough to be able to work at it and become one of the greatest players in the world.

Zach Johnson April 11, 2007, 8:47 am

by Jerry May
I'm a huge Zach Johnson fan now. A Christian who is not afraid to tell the world about his faith; and on Easter Sunday. There is a God!

Zach and God April 11, 2007, 8:45 am

by S. Still
Is that like Me and God? Yes Jesus cares what you get in life! He will give you the desires of your heart if your ways please him. Well he must be pleased with Zach! Why would anyone take offense to a person giving thanks to their God? Or is it Jesus everyone seems to have a problem with? More people should be like Zach! For Zach may you continue Thanking Jesus and be pleasing in his eyes!

Religioue Belief April 11, 2007, 8:44 am

by Tony Spiro
I applaude Zach Johnson for not being ashamed of his religious beliefs and giving credit to the Lord God for his success. I bet the majority of Believers, regardless of Religion, have asked for Divine help to overcome an adversity or achieve a success. Who can say that it was not God who guided the hands of a desrving christian during the most prestigious golf tounament in the world.

Zack Johnsons faith April 11, 2007, 8:43 am

by Paul
Faith is a wonderful thing....to bad you dont know how to express it as Zack Johnson did. Its that wonderful inner feeling of confidence. Not all athletes have it...Only the CHAMPIONS.

Zach Johnson's win at the Masters April 11, 2007, 8:21 am

by Bob Martin
I am immediately a Zach Johnson fan....not because he won the Masters only but the fact he mentioned Jesus and his faith and belief...I do not know why anyone would bash him for sincere, honest Christian feelings...too bad more people do not believe when you see what is going on throughout the world...hate, killings, etc.etc. May God bless Zach and all of us who believe in the Lord and try to be good to everyone....May this win not change Zach but may he remain humble and grounded..a good family man and a great example for all of us.....

Zach the Prophet April 11, 2007, 8:19 am

by B.Joyner
Faith is a positive thing! I think the outcome of the Masters is a powerful reality that it can happen to the best of men. I do not know Zach Johnson personally but for a man to mention his faith to who knows how many viewers says a lot about his daily walk. Golf is just vehicle, faith grows from the heart.

Zac Johnson's comments April 11, 2007, 8:19 am

by Joseph Burns
The entire reaction / response regarding Zac Johnson's comments about Jesus was incorrect as usual. On one side of the spectrum, the politically correct believe a right angle is actually 89 degrees, or is it 91 degrees ? Science does not matter, it's how you FEEL ( And those people feel bad about his words ). While on the other side, those folks are 'over the top' that he promoted the faith & could probably care about the actual event. As usual, we miss it again. Here's the bottom line, a good golfer over a four day period won the Masters & expressed his thankfulnees at the end of the tournament to his Savior. Tomorrow is Thursday, let's move on !

2007 Masters April 11, 2007, 8:14 am

by TRC
Who cares about Zach and his religious beliefs? Can someone tell Tiger that he isn't playing Little League baseball anymore (that assumes he ever did). Tell him to cool it with the spitting on the greens and all over the course for that matter; and, what's with the 'snot rockets' on national tv?

Zach and Jesus Story April 11, 2007, 7:44 am

by robert murphy
Amen,.right on.....and power to the perople. It was refreshing to see some honest, articulate and home grown emotions from Zach. He obviously loves his home town and the State of Iowa and is proud of it.
You are on the money with corporate pre-fab, cookie cutter winners. Let us cheer and rejoice for the underdog from Iowa for all of the great accomplishments, and of course his Master's victory.
Can I get an Amen !!!!

Evangelical Golf April 11, 2007, 7:26 am

by Bob Franco
Story was right on. Who cares? How would Jim Nantz and the other golf purists reacted if Zach had mentioned his rabbi or Allah? Leave Zach and his faith alone. The story is about winning the Masters and Zach's praise for his God makes him who he is- A Masters Champion.

Zach Attack April 11, 2007, 6:54 am

by Paul Evans
In a world were people use human bombs in the name of their religious beliefs, it's refreshing to see someone with gentle humility. I'm in total agreement that it was great to hear an unscripted response from an unexpected winner.

Zach Johnson's confessional at the Masters April 11, 2007, 6:03 am

by Ron Jordan
Thank you for being a stand up guy for the Zach Johnson's of the world. As a fan of pro golf, yes it indeed a "joy" to see a "Iowan Hick" enjoy the moment. Who ever he praises for his win is a moot point. His joy was great and you are to commended for seeing the win for what it was, a chance for the weekend hackers to have a moment and enjoy his win, as much as he did. In fact "praise God" it could not have happen to a more deserving young man, his family and the great state of Iowa. I hope to have the pleasure to meet his "kin folk." :-)
