| steroids? golf? |

this is a pointless article--the author, mr. baldwin, and the 20-year-old (!) cited for his opinion, mr. davidson, are staggeringly naive.
mr. blount, on the other hand, who you baselessly portray as the minority, voices the ("who cares?") opinion that would be shared by most of the golf consumers I know.

As an avid golfer all my life, I do not see the advantage of using steriods to improve your game. Since the golf swing is about timing, brute strength as a result of using steriods simply would not work. Upper body strenght has nothing to do with the lower body muscles (legs) that produce the power to hit it further. The short game would suffer from more muscle and take away from the soft touch you need around the greens.

Ken: Mark Nessmith makes a good argument why golfers using steroids IS a risk here http://www.travelgolf.com/blogs/mark.nessmith/2006/03/15/steroids_in_golf_could_happen_but_don_t_ It's not about brute strength, it's about stamina and recovery.
