Comment on article about Earl Stone at age 77 February 18, 2007, 2:45 pm

by Don Marquess
It was interesting to read about Mr. Stones' work on different golf courses in the south. His most northern course in Hopkinsville, Ky. however was Western Hills Golf Course, built in 1985 as a city - county municipal course. The course was built through the efforts of many local officals and golfers and Mr. Stone was chosen both on his ability as a designer and based on our budget to build the course at the time. It is still as playable and as much a pride to our community today as it was in 1985.
