What an excellent article! I totally agree with the attitude prevalent among current TOUR players. Tiger Woods comes off as a complete jerk to everyone and especially the fans. The thing that has been lost among many TOUR players in the never-ending quest for more money is the fact that these guys are entertainers. Who cares what they want... they SHOULD want wants best for fans and the game. If fans were allowed to cheer, yes, it might throw off a swing or two here and there, but then you wouldn't have to be constantly lengthening the courses and the USGA would have a lot more final scores around par. Let's not forge the excitement and adrenaline that rushes through your veins with tons of people cheering for you. EVERYONE would benefit, even the pros (though scores wouldn't be as low, everyone would be affected similarly), but most important the fans would benefit and kids would enjoy it a ton.
