Great article!
On your trip from Rutland CC to Middlebury, you might want to make a detour on Route 7 to Brandon, VT. Brandon is the home to what many consider to be the unknown jewel of Vermont golf; Neshobe Golf Club. A par 72 couse with a Steve Durkee addition of 12 or so new holes years ago. The course is beautiful and built into the the classic Rural Vermont post card setting which includes a golf cart covered bridge. Just amazing! Better yet the play is very challenging so bring your game. You won't break the bank playing, Neshobe is probably the best deal in Vermont golf. With low greens fees and Lifetime memberships available you can't go wrong!

I recently read your column on Vermont golf. I loved it. All of it was true. I am a southern born golfer that moved to Vermont in 2001 right out of college. I had played alot of golf, but didnt really learn to play well until I moved to Manchester Vermont. The courses there are so demanding. You never have a flat lie. I will say that you left out maybe one of the better courses in Vermont. You mentioned Glen Eagles golf course, but you did not mention the Ekwanok Country Club right next door. This course was built in early 1900 and has just as good, if not better views than the GlenEagles course. Check out the website on this course. Its awesome. Here is the link. http://www.golfclubatlas.com/ekwanok1.html You owe it to yourself to check this course out. Tons of history here. Let me know what you think.
