Blue Heron Pines Golf Club
About
The Blue Heron Pines Golf Club consists of two award-winning courses called the East and the West. Located 15 minutes outside of Atlantic City, these public golf courses provide a challenging game and have been touted by many New Jersey publications as the best 18-hole course on the Jersey Shore.
Each golf course had a different designer so they do have some differences. The West Course is relatively flat with narrow fairways and fast greens. Water hazards also come into play on seven holes. The East Course on the other hand features wide fairways and difficult bunkers. The East Course also follows a links-style layout and is meant to be played fast and firm. For those who want to play the courses but aren't at the top of their game yet, the club offers golf instruction.

course conditions not worth $115
the course conditions were worse than my local municipal course.
definitely not worth $115. The conditions made it a $50 course at best.
Great public course
For getting a fair amount of play this course was in very good condition. Greens were challenging but not ridiculous. Course is well maintained.
Blue Heron
The course is very playable. There are a couple good holes that make you think. Overall not overly challenging. Some areas are burnt out from the heat but nothing around the greens. Rough is light and not a major issue for most holes.
$60 or less is reasonable price to pay.
Good test
Conditions of course was great for highly played public GC. Some of the holes filter drives to the pine trees so keep down the middle. Golfers of all abilities will appreciate this layout.
Interesting holes that are not overly tricked out with undulating greens or pins tucked behind bunkers.
Private Club Feel at a Public Rate
I had an excellent experience playing at this club today. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. While not particularly cheap, it is an exceptional value overall. Greens were in excellent condition as well as most fairways. Tea boxes were overall OK but considering the amount of play this course gets on a regular basis they were fine.
Pace of play was excellent and an encore escort girl with drinks was welcome addition on a hot day. We stayed and had lunch at the restaurant which had a nice menu with excellent service. The Pro Shop was professional and well stocked. Overall we had an outstanding experience and I look forward to playing here again soon.
Great shape
While not exactly a budget-friendly track, it's in great shape and a well-spent afternoon!
Nice course, even nicer staff
Liked the course for my first time here - didn't like the many sandtraps - my nemesis! Course staff were outstanding! Gary the bag guy was very friendly and helpful. Morgan the cart gal was excellent, as well as the bartenders after the round. Food was good considering. Yes I'd return (although it's a bit of a hike), maybe next time I'll do a better job avoiding some of those many bunkers!
Nice Course
Nice design. Greens and fairways in great shape. Very fair layout. Lots of bunkers and fast greens.
The Blue
It was shocking to me how genuinely kind and helpful everyone there was! We were greeted by Gary, warm smile and genuine desire to make our visit a pleasurable one.
We were aired up with another couple who had played this course before.
We found the course challenging, especially the greens!
Overall a great time!
Good conditions
Have played Blue Heron Pines a number of times in the past and the course is currently in prime summer shape. Only downside was that the greens seems to have some minor top dressing sand. Even with that, they still rolled nicely.
