TUCSON, AZ (Feb. 8, 2000) - In the land Down Under, golf does indeed
rule.
Regional online golf chain TravelGolf.com has officially purchased
AustraliaGolf.com and plans to active a fully interactive publication
by March 15, 2001. The domain was purchased from a Phoenix-based group.
The new publication will be geared to attract TravelGolf.com's vast
U.S. readership to go to Australia.
"We think with the success of the Olympics that many Americans
now have an awareness of Australia," said editor Doug Carey. "Australia
offers great golf and a lush diversity of culture and recreation that
makes it a dynamite destination."
Carey says that AustraliaGolf.com will also attempt to accommodate the
lucrative Asian market as well.
"TravelGolf.com is committed to publishing top flight regional
and destination publications and we are excited to have purchased this
lucrative domain name," said Publisher Robert Lewis.
Lewis says editorial staff for AustraliaGolf.com will be announced later
this month.
Among the 20 online regional golf publications that TravelGolf.com publishes
