TravelGolf.com Launches AustraliaGolf.com
TUCSON, AZ (MARCH 22, 2001) - Golfers looking to get the skinny on golf travel to Australia will now find it easier thanks to the world's largest online golf publication chain, TravelGolf.com.
AustraliaGolf.com has officially gone online as an updated golf publication dedicated to golf in Australia and New Zealand. The new publication will work in an editorial strategic alliance with Turnstile's Golf & Travel. TravelGolf.com has named Doug Carey as editor of the new publication and Sam Stevens as senior web designer.
Paul Mountcastle will be designated as a weekly beat writer specifically covering New Zealand golf news. Ricardo Pierre has been named Western Australia Bureau Chief. AustraliaGolf.com will announce more assignments in May.
TravelGolf.com purchased the lucrative domain name as part of a major expansion plan launched earlier this year, and plans to market the publication aggressively. AustraliaGolf.com is now TravelGolf.com's 20th online publication.
The publication will be sponsored by GolfPac and Custom Golf Vacations.
No stranger to the International market, TravelGolf.com publishes Scotland's top read online golf publication at ScotlandGolf.com. TravelGolf.com's StAndrewsGolf.com has been a mainstay for three years.
"This publication is revolutionary in that it brings together two of the most promising golf destinations under one great dot com," said senior TravelGolf.com writer, Shane Sharp. "Now, US and international golf travelers can go online, peruse course reviews, get golf news, purchase golf packages and learn why Australia and New Zealand are wonderful golf destinations."
Vice President Nancy Foster said the overwhelming positive image that the Olympics conveyed as well as the reputation for great golf courses encouraged TravelGolf.com to expand to Australia.
"Affluent golfers are looking for more choices and for more exotic locations. We think AustraliaGolf.com will get great interest from GolfCalifornia.com and our other domestic publications. This purchase and launch is one of the most exciting publishing ventures we have ever been involved in."
TravelGolf.com runs the world's largest chain of online golf publications. The chain of TravelGolf.com publications include top read GolfCalifornia.com, GolfArizona.com, GolfFlorida.com, RockiesGolf.com, ChicagoGolf.com, MichiganGolf.com, MyrtlebeachGolf.com and MyrtlebeachGolf.com.
