Pleasant Valley Golf Club
About
Pleasant Valley Golf Club sits just south of Dulles airport, but the expansive layout, which is absent of homes, feels much more secluded. The parkland layout tumbles across a diverse landscape of rolling hills and grassy meadows covered with hardwood forests. There is plenty of diversity throughout the golf course with some holes that are bunker-less contrasting with the links holes that have Scottish-style bunkers. One of the most memorable holes is the par-5 fifth. After an uphill tee shot with a bunker on the right and a waste area on the left the second shot presents multiple choices. To the left you could take a risk with trees and a bunker but you could possibly be rewarded with a better angle for the third shot while the right side option will require a third shot over a large bunker to reach the green.

Too much water on fairways
They overwater which results in the need for lift clean and place. The only time you should have to play that wet of a course should be after a significant rain event which we have had no rain over the last several days. Overpriced for the conditions and facility compared to other courses in the area.
Soggy fairways
The fairways were very muddy and wet. Some parts of the fairways had no grass just mud only. Very disappointed in the condition of the golf course.
Fun and painful
I really enjoyed everything the course had to offer but the house flies made it hard to enjoy. I'll be back in the fall. When I need to wear pants.
Awful maintenance management
Pleasant Valley doesn’t learn, or doesn’t care about course conditions. This golf course over waters constantly… and then when it rains the course can handle the water. They can’t cut the greens, fairways or rough. It’s as though they think it’s a sin if the golf course plays fast. So… there are major areas on greeens were the grass has died. The fairways are so soft it’s virtually impossible to compress the ball. The ball marks on greens are like small craters, and they are everywhere. It’s a shame. The course is well designed. It just needs a professional maintenance staff. Don’t dare spend more than $50 to play here. Or you’ll be very disappointed.
Not Bad
Course is not bad. It is challenging. Front 9 is pretty beat up and the rough is ROUGH. Lots of wildlife to be seen which I enjoy. The brake on our cart was a challenge to use. The pace of play was not good at all. We had a twosome in front that we wait ones for and a twosome right on our tails waiting for us. Then a lone golfer decided to jump on the course and play the last 3 holes which slowed us down even more.
Challenging but fair
Course in excellent shape especially given the dry weather.
Friendly staff nice facilities
Nice course and experience
Took my daughter here on a hot day. lacked cart service on the course but good offerings at the turn. Lots of blind tee shots that make it a little unnerving for first time players or first time long time players. A lot of forced carries from the tees and other hazards along the fairways. Challenging course for players of all abilities. Lots of trees to hit including one in the middle of a split fairway which i hit solidly on a par 5 which killed my shot at par since i had no shot from where it landed to hit the green. Greens were in good shape, fair amount of ball marks not repaired, but rolled true for the most part. Few bare areas on greens. Would play again.
Lush
After 2 days of rain the course was soft and lush. Fairways and greens very lush. Nice course.
