John Clayton has 14 years of journalism experience and joins TravelGolf.com after a stint with the NBA's Indiana Pacers as part of the franchise's Internet Marketing Department. Before joining the Pacers in 2003, Clayton was a sports columnist for more than four years with CNHI-Indiana Newspapers, covering major college and professional sports including the Indianapolis Colts, Pacers, Big Ten and Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Over the course of his award-winning career, Clayton has also covered PGA Championships, the Ryder Cup, NCAA Golf Championships and the MCI Heritage Classic. He has been a contributing writer to GolfWeek and LINKS Magazine. He currently resides in upstate South Carolina and will cover the golfing hot spots of Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head Island in addition to the rest of the Mid-Atlantic region.
