Katrina and Wilma dominated a record-setting hurricane season in 2005, leaving thousands homeless and many businesses in ruin. On recent visits to hurricane-ravaged areas in New Orleans and Florida, however, acclaimed designer and Ron Garl saw many promising signs, especially at golf courses. While some, like the TPC of New Orleans took extensive damage, many others were able to withstand or avoid the onslaught, giving golfers in Louisiana and Florida reason for some optimism.
