Jake Schaller, Staff Writer
Jake Schaller, 27, resides in the Adams Morgan section of Washington, D.C. He grew up in Bethesda, MD, where he attended Walt Whitman High School and played football.
Schaller attended the University of Notre Dame and graduated in 1997. He then returned to the Washington area and worked as a sports writer for The Times-Community Newspapers of Northern Virginia. From January of 1998 to August of 1999, Schaller worked at The Montgomery Journal as a sports writer. He then worked as a free-lance writer for The Baltimore Sun and Redskins Official Weekly.
Schaller returned to The Montgomery Journal in January of 2001 as the paper's sports editor. He held that position until August of 2002. Schaller now works as a high school sports writer for The Washington Post and a staff writer for TravelGolf.com.
Schaller, who carries a 17 handicap, is a member at Kenwood Golf and Country Club in Bethesda, MD. He has also written for Washington Golf Monthly.
