Chip began playing golf at the age of four and turned professional after college. He taught for several years at City Park and Riverlands Country Club in New Orleans, and currently instructs players on the PGA TOUR.
Chip founded Blue Chip Promotions (player-manager and media group) in 1997. He is very familiar with and friends with most PGA Tour players. In addition, Chip annually recruits for and helps run and organize Mexican Open.
Chip was instrumental and accredited for work and release of Golf's Mental Magic, a psychology-based instructional book by Guy Fasciana.
Chip's media credits are impressive:
- Weekly newspaper columnist;
- Had a number of articles published in various magazines all over the world (all golf related);
- Provides weekly on-air PGA TOUR updates and interviews for Time Warner Television;
- Produces weekly CNN and CNN Sports Illustrated interviews and reports;
- Hired by CBS to promote Miracle on the 17th Green, a made for television movie that aired on CBS December, 1999. Movie received No. 1 rating in time slot;
- Currently writing script and format for Playable Lies, a made-for-television, celebrity-interview series.
