punched the Tee box, and the greens which might need a week or two to recover.
Played the course yesterday, the greens and the tee box got punched recently and might need a week or two to recover. The front nine is tight but the layout is awesome. the back nine is a little more open (but not much) course layout is great. the bunkers have some of the softest sand I've ever hit out of. overall a real fun challanging course to play.
Great Vaule For The Money
The course was in great condition and the staff was extremely accommodating. In close proximity to all Disney attractions. Overall a very enjoyable 18 holes of golf.
Disappointing Diamondback
I've played Diamondback before and the course is a great layout. We played knowing the greens were aerated. However, the course was in a shocking state. The greens were the worst I've played in Florida ever, the tees were worse than the greens and the fairways looked like they'd not had much water on them recently.
One star was for the condition, the bonus star was because the course is a great layout.
Friendly
On the day staff where very good thought the greens where not good at all very sandy and bumpy. Also tees where the same rest of course was very good
Greens not the best
The greens are probably transitioning from the over seed, but were not the best of shape. In their defense, they were aerifying the back nine the day we played.
Good Value
On every trip to Florida we always play Diamondback...although never play it particularly well!! We were asked to play the front nine twice as they were just starting work on the back nine greens...no problems whatsoever.
On the whole, the course was in fair condition...greens were a bit patchy in places...but guess that's why they are about to start work on them.
The most disappointing feature was the state of the bunkers, which looked like they could do with a bit of care and attention...rough around the edges and not been raked for a while. Again..not enough to spoil the day.
I guess, like most courses, times are hard...and maybe the bunkers are the first thing to be sacrificed.
Always an enjoyable experience though!
Great layout; sub-par condition
One of the better layouts near the Route 27 corridor. Appears that conditions have suffered, due at least in part to a lack of play. No More than a dozen cars in the parking lot at 11:00 on a sunny April morning. Good course for the average to slightly above average player. Beginners will be intimidated by forced carries and lack of bail out areas on some tight holes.
Challenging Layout
For the money, you will be hard pressed to find a better value. The course is very challenging with shot-making a priority. The condition of the course was as expected, not the best but far from the worst. Greens were in reasonable shape given late spring so winter rye is just about gone. Bunkers could use some work, very inconsistent and need weeding. Not much as far as clubhouse, etc. but that is not what we came for so not a big deal to us.
the course is tough but fun to play
fairways are super and sand traps are placed in fun places. greens need a little work but are super fast!!!
Pure Golf
Diamondback is tough from the start and rarely lets up. You really have to make good strikes here, a true shot makers course. The environment is perfect! There are no homes or roadways to cross. There is just golf, and if you enjoy challenges, bring your A game off the tee and prepare for greenside challenges with slick putting surfaces. This is a GEM! Play Diamondback.
Great course
This course is a big challenge with narrow tree lined fairways and bunkers in the fairway an d in front of the greens.
The course has lots of potential but not quite there yet.
We arrived early and were immediately permitted to start our game. There were a number of single players and twosomes (we were also a twosome). Players etiquette was questionable since a single player behind us hit his ball to close to us on a number of occasions. He only needed to ask and we would have let him play through. We were not slow since we finished our game in under three hours. The course and greens were in good shape. The greens probably in almost excellent shape. The wooden bridges used as cart paths were in need of repair. The course was not a challenge for any single digit handicap golfer, so I have to accept the course as acceptable for me, (handicap of 16)The 18th hole is their signature hole and looks great. There are many courses in this area and competition to get your dollar is tough. Fair value for your money. I will keep looking for that special course during my visit to Florida.
Decent value
Course different to many Florida courses as tight and unforgiving having lots of trees and vegetation and no houses anywhere to be seen. However greens, tees and bunkers not maintained to a great standard.
Terrific layout.
When you are paying your greens fees, do a 180 and just about eye-level is what the course was named after. Don't miss this! It's a pretty tight course, but play it a couple of times, and you can score pretty well here...
greens were in bad shape
Seems like they have let the course go a little bit. The greens were in pretty bad shape and the sand traps were hard as a rock making it difficult to get up and in. But overall a good time.
Tight tract
This course is tight, but the back opens up a bit. Tree lined fairways - a nice change from the "resort style" courses. Lots of doglegs. Bring some "B" grade golf balls; you'll lose a few, and as the course name implies - you probably shouldn't go looking for them.
Tees were good and lots of grass on the fairways. Greens however, need some TLC, but putts roll well and true, and did not affect the round.
It's probably a 40 minute drive from the Kissimmee area. If you like trying a variety of courses on your trip, give it a try. We enjoyed the day there.
Something very different in Central Florida!!
This course is near Legoland. It is not the typical wide open Florida course. It is very different, beautiful, and natural. It was golfing in the original Florida habitat, not just cleared land that was made into a course.Want to get away for some time? This is the place.I did not see any diamondbacks though, lol. However, i did see the wierdest large black insect. It was curious about how well i hit my 3 wood. After that, it just flew away, never to be seen again.
Great layout
If you like to see what Florida looks like outside the cities this is it. Need to hit it straight or take extra balls. Course is in great shape and is not for the wayward golfer. Have played it quite a few times and enjoyed every round.
Great course away from the houses of other courses in the area
Be warned, just be straight and calm, anything in the woods is considered a hazard, so your score may not be true.
It starts a bit tight, and the locals know the course, so can chase you a bit if your visiting, but not in a stressed way.
The greens had some worn patches, but over all good condition.
Friendly staff all round, still enjoyed it even if the score wasnt so great.
Fantastic as usual
This course presents a challance to golfers of all abilities. It has an array of water, sand and natural hazards placed strategically to challenge all handicaps. The only thing that would make this course better is if they would trim the underbrush below the trees to open it up a bit more so that and errant shot would be easier to see. This would also speed up play. Otherwise a great experience.
