Atlanta: Bernie Kaplan, Golf Instructor

"Dr. Golf" - Atlanta, Georgia

A U.S. Golf Teachers' Association certified instructor with fifteen years experience teaching adults and juniors, beginner to advanced, Bernie Kaplan has been taught to teach by some of the best in the business. His teaching experience includes the Colbert/Ballard Golf School in Sunrise (FL) and Bill Skelly School of Golf in the Pocono Mountains (PA).

As a PGA apprentice, he served as Head Instructor at Key Biscayne Golf Range in Key Biscayne (FL) in 1995, and is certified in club repair and custom club fitting having attended the Golf Club Repair School of the South in Fayetteville, GA. With a keen eye for diagnosing swing faults, and the ability to effectively communicate his knowledge of the golf swing, Bernie is responsible for helping other golfers reduce their handicaps by as much as 40 strokes.

Bernie's career began not as a golf instructor, but rather as an advertising and marketing executive with American Advertising in New Jersey. He graduated from Brooklyn City College in 1961 with a degree in retailing. He has worked with inner city kids and helped youth through the Atlanta Junior Golf Association, and has some experience working with the physically challenged. To his credit he has one golf award, winning the Howell Park Match Play Championship (Howell, NJ) in 1987.
