Not only is Mike recognized by Golf Magazine as one of the Top 100 Teaching Professionals in America, but the McGetrick Golf Academy has been a Golf Magazine Top 25 Golf School since 1997.

The McGetrick Golf Academy in Denver, Colorado sets the standard when it comes to golf instruction. The centerpiece of the Academy is a 4,500 square foot state-of-the-art training facility with three climate-controlled indoor/outdoor hitting bays. Academy students take advantage of the most innovative training technology today, including video/computer analysis, advanced club-fitting technology, and a complete golf fitness performance center. The practice facility includes target greens to work on every club in the bag and the short game areas include practice greens with bunkers and contours to simulate every possible situation.

Mike believes in a complete approach to game improvement by addressing all aspects of the game including full swing, short game, course management, practice techniques, mental training, golf fitness, and properly fitted equipment. Mike's goal for each student is for them to come away with a plan for game improvement that is comprehensive and individually tailored.

Mike's teaching philosophy is that the golf swing cannot be standardized to fit every golfer. Mike develops the golf swing around the student's capabilities and determines what is the most efficient way for the student to swing the golf club. Mike improves upon each student's current abilities by keeping the swing changes within the style of the student.

Mike coaches men, women, senior and junior golfers of all ages and abilities. While the majority of Mike's teaching takes place with amateur golfers, he coaches players on the PGA and LPGA Tours who have a combined total of 43 worldwide wins and 9 Major Championships. Mike coaches PGA Tour player Brandt Jobe and LPGA Tour players include: US Women's Open Winner, Meg Mallon; Two-time US Women's Open Winner and Hall of Fame Member, Juli Inkster; LPGA Hall of Fame Member, Beth Daniel and tour veterans Pat Hurst and Wendy Ward.
