David R. Holland has been a senior writer for TravelGolf.com since 1998, and he was named "Writer of the Month" by INCA Golf in June 2001. A former sportswriter for The Dallas Morning News and the Waco Tribune-Herald, Holland's golf writing credits include The International, the British Open, Colonial, Byron Nelson Classic, AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, and LPGA events. His freelance credits include the Dallas Cowboys Weekly, United Press International (Texas Rangers and Dallas Mavericks) and Fort Worth Star-Telegram. He was owner and publisher of Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex Football Magazine from 1978 to 1991. He has a journalism degree from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. He is also an Air Force Reserve retiree, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in Public Affairs at the Pentagon-level.
