What you should do is send this to all the travel agents out there, and have them advise their clientel of the charges before they even leave home. A lot of these hotels would lose a lot of business and that is when and only when they look at what they charge.

Your article is on target except for one point. They aren't "ticky tack" charges, they are flat out TACKY charges. Hotels are getting as bad a cellphone companies and rental car companies with cloak-and-daggar fees that just add to their bottom line. Give me the landed cost up front and I won't feel cheated!

OMG! I have been asking these questions for years! If you are over charging fo hotel room nd you must charge for these little annoyances, why not increase the already overpriced room by $15 and not piss off the customer by slapping him in the face!
