Malaysia Golf October 17, 2007, 12:48 pm

by Allan Manning
I just returned from Malaysia. I was there on a business trip but managed to drag along my clubs for some recreational golf. Here is some facts about Malaysian golf that I learned:
1. Bring your patience, the pace is 5.5 hrs on the weekend.
2. Bring your handicap card they will ask for it.
3. A few courses only allow guests during the week. These were more of the high end courses (RSGC).
4. Bring your camera. Even the low end public course was highly scenic. Watch out for the monkeys and monitor lizards. Looking at one, I almost steped on the other.
5. Leave your skeptisism, the local people are very accomodating and polite. Most people speak some english and many speak good english. I didn't have one negative conversation the whole trip.
