When it comes to golf, I'm a disciple of John Daly's approach: Grip it and rip it. Those people who say golf is a good walk spoiled? They're probably thinking too much. That said, I'm not discounting the importance of some strategy - especially not after reading Derek Duncan's new column on the topic. In part one of his series, Duncan attempts to define strategy as a means of judging a golf course. As you'll see, it's more difficult than you might think. As always, your comments are welcome on any topic. Have a great week.

Gettysburg's Hallowed GroundToday's golfer can combine a visit to this pivotal Civil War site and get in a round of golf on one of several fine courses. Ken Picking, general manager of The Links at Gettysburg, sums it up nicely: "The golf is great, the scenery beautiful and one of the most historic battles in the entire history of the world happened right here."
