It's a great day when the travel golfer can play one of the best golf courses in the world, but two in one week? Senior writer David R. Holland, GolfCalifornia.com's initial staff writer six years ago, recently had the good fortune to play both Pebble Beach and Cypress Point. Cypress Point, one of the most exclusive private clubs in the world, is a rare invitation. If a country club member asks for reciprocal play, his phone call will not be returned. Look for Holland's historical feature about the Alister MacKenzie gem soon. Also during his week in Monterey, Holland helped Bayonet celebrate its 50th birthday and managed to play both Poppy Hills and the new Jack Nicklaus private club Pasadera. While we all live vicariously through Holland this week, be sure to check out our usual full roster of reviews and travel features, plus our new column by contributing writer Shane Sharp on the PGA Tour. As always, your comments are welcome on any topic. Have a great week.
